HOT WEATHER POLICY<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Mon\/Tues\/Fri Nights<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n

If the temperature at 5:00pm is 36\u00b0 or over, using SADNA\u2019s weather advice, clubs will be advised by email, that all matches are to be abandoned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where the temperature at 5.00pm is 34\u00b0 or over, all notified forfeit fines will be waived.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mon\/Tues\/Fri Nights<\/strong> – Finals<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In finals, matches cannot be abandoned but should the temperature at 5.00pm be 36\u00b0 or over, start times for all matches will be delayed by 30 minutes. After which, further assessment will be made in accordance with SADNA\u2019s Extreme Weather Policy.<\/span><\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> It will be the responsibility of clubs to<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. make their members aware of this change in policy, and their need to check SADNA\u2019s website for the current temperature.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. advise their members accordingly, that SADNA will not be communicating with club personnel regarding this policy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Please note that the weather application also records historical data that can be viewed at any time.<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    EXTREME WEATHER POLICY <\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    T<\/u><\/span>he Court Administrator in consultation with a Senior Official can hold time for up to 10 minutes under extreme weather conditions, such as lightning or extreme rain. After that time the situation will be re-assessed and matches abandoned if conditions have not improved.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Senior Officials are defined as \u2013 President, Senior Vice President, Vice President, and Chairperson of Competitions Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Implementation:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. 2 sets of chimes to be sounded followed by an announcement \u201cPlease hold time and vacate the courts or seek suitable shelter until further notice.\u201d Two (2) Officials are to regularly monitor and assess the situation for up to 10 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. After re-assessment \u2013 2 chimes to be sounded followed by the announcement \u201cplay may now resume\u201d or \u201call matches for this timeslot have been abandoned.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. This policy in no way impinges on Rule 7 (stoppages) in the AANA Rule Book.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      In emergency conditions, unrelated to this policy, umpires are responsible for making the decision whether to hold time, abandon or not due to conditions relating to their court only.<\/span><\/p>\n
